*Saturday - April 26th is opening day for Christian Park's Minor & Major teams.
*If the Jr. & Sr. girls may want to help decorate the Minor Boy's Texas Ranger's truck be at the park at 8:00 a.m. The boys play at 10:00 a.m.
*If any of the Jr. & Sr. girls, in groups of 2-4, would like to help work the concession stand, please let Diana know.
*Shirts & hat will be provided by the League. They will probably be ordered after opening day and take a few weeks to get in.
*Uniforms will be red shorts. They are available at Target for around $7.99 or the Nike brand for about $10.00.
*Socks will be white, with the Royal Blue strip. They should be available at any sporting goods store.
Practice Tuesday (April 22) and Thursday (April 24) at 6:00 on the Howe softball field. There will be no Saturday day practice. Saturday is opening day for the minor & major teams at Christain Park. Come and enjoy the fun.
Jr. & Sr. practice will be Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. on the Howe softball field.
IUPUI has officially declined in helping us with a pitching camp. This is the busy part of their season. They did however, says to contact them next year, earlier in the season and they would try and help. So, I'll make a mental note and try and contact them in January next year, to have a camp in early March.
We will be having a get together on Saturday at 2:00 on the Howe softball field. Please bring your equipment. If you can come great! If not, we know it's short notice.
The official practice schedule will be posted as soon as it is available, plan on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:00 till 7:30 for most players. Extra Pitcher & Catcher practice will be from 7:30 till 8:00, depending on lighting.
Practice will not be at Christian Park. The league has rented out Howe Academy (H.S. for us old folks). The field is located behind the school. You would be better off to go down Emerson Ave. and turn west on University (which is a dead end). The street leads right out into the field.
Park Clean up is this Saturday from 10:30 till it's clean (I would say around 12:00-1:00).
I haven't heard back from U of I about our camp, so I've moved on to IUPUI. So far, we've been playing phone tag. I hope to hear from her before our Parent & Player meeting tonight.
Parent & Player meeting Tuesday 8th @ 6:30. No practice or pitching camp that night.
Looks like we will be shooting for Tuesday - April 8th for the Girl's Pitching Camp. I will hopefully have everything in place by the end of the day.
