Christian Park Softball Girl's Little League Indianapolis, IN

It was a picture perfect softball evening. The temp was comfortable just around 70 and the sun was setting in the east. The brand new field provided by the RoundTrippers was graded with smooth red dirt and the fresh white chalk lined the field.

Christian Park's finest girl's teams were both were ready to play. The Wildcats, coached by Karla & company, and the Rangers, coached by David and Chris. As both teams warmed up on the field, old friends were greeted, challenges were exchanged and the game was on.

The Wildcats took the field and the Rangers were up to bat. The first couple of innings seesawed back and forth between the teams as they began to get into the grove.

I think the first thing that really put the Ranges in to over drive, was Mariah, or at least I think it was Mariah. She was moving so fast around the bases I could hardly tell. She hit a nice ball and zoomed to first, just tagging the plate before first caught the ball. Swiftly she touched first and as the first base held the ball and wandered in front of first base, Mariah dashed off towards second. By the time first base realized it, and so did I, she was on second. The startled throw to second flew into the outfield and she was off again, rounding third and into home. First homer of the year. Good job.

Peyton held the plate while Amanda guarded home. Peyton pitched consistently and had a little trouble in about the 5th inning allowing 4 walks. However, the rest of the team helped her out by being ready to make the plays. She recovered and finished out the game well.

Melissa, playing first, must have had a ball magnet in her glove. The line drives down first seemed to just stick in her glove making so many plays at first. One of the best plays was a sneaky throw from the pitcher to first, to get an over confident stealer out, wrapping up the inning.

The outfield, Jessica, TT, Belinda and Amanda, whom I thought would have a busy evening, because I know the Wildcats have several heavy hitter, were sadly disappointed. Not to worry, I'm sure IC will keep you busy Friday night.

Courtney was pulled in to play third base and was backed up by Dena playing short. Not quite sure what to do, both David and Chris gave her a few pointers and she pulled through with style.

Ashley and Brittany covered second. They had a couple of close plays and several good hits.

Our goal was to gain 3 seconds on everything and you did it. Good job!
