Christian Park Softball
Softball was adapted from baseball by George Hancock in 1887, and the International Softball Federation was formed in 1950 as the governing body for fast pitch and slow pitch softball. In 1966, women’s fast pitch softball became an Olympic sport.

The History of Softball
The following information is for several of our older high school girls that want to play both high school softball and Little League softball. From what I read, you will be able to participate in Little League, after your team looses sectionals and your high school coach approves it.
Here is the website, so you can review the information...

IHSAA Softball Schedule 2004
If there is any other question or concern please talk with your high school coach. IHSAA rules supersede Little League rules.
As far as middle school goes, I don't believe IPS has any documentation on playing for both teams. I would suggest you ask your middle school coach to make sure it is O.K.
Everyone has the will to win but few have the will to prepare to win.
Registration and Medical release forms have been mailed out to the girls from last year that played for me and to the girls that are moving up from majors. At this time we have about 16 potential players. That's a great number to start with.
Opening day at the park is scheduled for Saturday, April 17th. I think I would like to meet with everyone that day. Maybe we'll borrow a pickup truck, decorate it, and join the minor/major teams as they cruise the neighborhood, cheering and screaming.
At this time, I think our first practice will be Saturday, May 1st, about 10:00, on the softball field over at Howe Academy - 4900 Julian. We will have practices on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00, with weekend practices on Saturday at 10:00. I don't like to get up that early either. I'll provide more detail when it's time to start.
As for the season, I'd like to play our first game around May 18 and have 3 games a week - Tuesday and Thursday (Players @ 5:30 Game @ 6:00) and on Saturday (Player @ 9:30 Game @ 10:00). This should last through the end of June.
I've contacted I.C., Lowe, Lawrence and Carnine about games, and they are not quite ready to get started, so I'll give them another month. I also plan on talking with Community. Hopefully, we will have about 18 games and maybe we'll actually pull off a July tournament team this year. We'll have to stick together in order to do it.
Keep in touch, e-mail me and let me know what you would like to see out of this year's team.
Here are the links to the two forms that you need to fill out for Registration.

2004 Medical Release Form
Greetings - It's a new year and time to get started up again. I will be changing and updating my web site.
I will also send out some registration forms over the next couple of weeks. It appears that during registration they park turned away Jr./Sr. Girls. I told them not too, you'd think they'd learn.
Oh well, registration is $30.00 this year for Jr./Sr. (a little more for Minor & Majors). Cash, check or weekly payments can be made.
I look forward to seeing you all this summer.
