Christian Park Softball
Uniforms are in. I will have them for us at our game on Tuesday.
The schedule for both teams has been updated. This is even newer than the one I handed out last night at practice. After practice, we talked and checked out fields that were available and had to make a few changes.
The player roster is now up to date.
Have a good weekend, and I'll see the Rangers on Tuesday at
Community Little League. The game starts at 6:00 p.m. Players need to be at the field at 5:30 p.m. Community Little League is located at 21st & Forest Manor Ave.
First game of the season was quite challenging for us all. The late game started at 8:00ish and most everyone was there by 7:30. It seemed like everyone showed up, I think we ended up with 17 players. Oh to have this many last year. Just for the record there were two Jessica's, two Brittany's and two #5's.
In any case , I think everyone understands why we spilt up the team. It will let everyone have more playing time and allow for better training.
Highlights of the game included Amanda M. taking control of home plate and doing an excellent job of guarding it. Peyton pitched from the plate for 4 innings, striking out several players. Dena who did not pitch at all last year replaced Peyton, who was becoming overwhelmed with fatigue even though she wouldn’t admit it. Dena who played first, before pitching, made an amazing catch on first, jumping up and backwards, just catching the ball in the tip of her mitt.
Jessica D and TT had several plays in right field and both girls hustled very well to keep the ball in play. Brittany W and Ashley W both covered second. Chloe, Brittany N, Paula, and Amy all worked CF and RF getting several big hits out their way. Brittany N., who requested CF got her share of big plays and long hit balls. Over on third, Chastity and Blinda, both first time players, struggled a little bit, and fended to the best of her ability.
I know I haven't listed everyone, like Jessica D’s catching, Mariah coming back from her injury, and Courtney on short. It was a big group and there were several other great plays and I wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to play and I think they did. If you want to see more great action make sure you come to the next game!
For coaches and parents that would like a scorecard to track the game, I've found an excellent site that has a large selection of printable scorecard. Check it out...

Practice like your playing a real game. So, if you not at practice, where will you be for the game?

Schedule for 2004
The schedule for the 2004 seasons is now turned on. It's located over to your left, under Links. This is a live schedule and will change and be updated as needed during the course of the season. So far only practices are scheduled. As other teams and I set up games, I will add them. Hopefully, by the middle of May I will have a full set schedule for everyone.

Here is last years team picture from Kentucky Kingdom. Hopefully, we will have a car wash to help raise some money so we can go some where this year too.
